Terms of Use

By accessing or using Frican Continental Listings ("the Platform", "we", "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

These Terms apply to all visitors, registered users, and listers. We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

To register and post listings, you must:

• Be at least 18 years of age
• Provide accurate and truthful registration information
• Have a valid phone number that can receive communications
• Be legally permitted to sell, offer, or advertise the goods or services you list

The Platform is designed for use by residents of Africa and the African diaspora. It may be accessed globally, but listings and transactions are primarily Africa-based.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. Your username and password must not be shared with anyone.

You are fully responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. If you suspect unauthorised access, contact us immediately via the Contact page.

We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or compromise the safety of other users.

Password reset: If you have forgotten your password, you may request a reset by clicking "Forgot your password?" on the login page and entering your registered email address. A single-use reset link valid for 1 hour will be sent to that address. The Platform will only send you a password reset email when you explicitly request one. We will never send unsolicited password reset emails or ask for your password via phone, WhatsApp, or any other channel.

Important: Your login details are recorded for security purposes. Never share your password. The Platform will never ask for your password via phone, WhatsApp, or email. Any unsolicited password reset email you receive that you did not request should be ignored and reported.

Account deletion grace period: When a Lister account is marked for deletion by an administrator, a 48-hour grace period applies before the account and its data are permanently removed. The status will show as "Deletion Pending" during this window. The deletion may be cancelled within the 48-hour period by an administrator. After expiry, all account data, listings, and associated content are permanently purged and cannot be recovered.

All listings must be honest, accurate, and lawful. Available categories include Property, Rent a Room or House, Vehicles, Electronics & Gadgets, Services, Jobs & Employment, Fashion & Clothing, Agriculture & Food, Events & Entertainment, Tourism & Travel, Business & B2B, Health & Beauty, Education & Training, Babies & Kids, and Pets & Animals. You agree not to post listings that involve:

• Illegal goods, weapons, drugs, or controlled substances
• Counterfeit, stolen, or fraudulently obtained items
• Services that are prohibited under African law
• Adult or sexually explicit content
• Misleading pricing, descriptions, or photographs
• Duplicate or spam listings of the same item
• Listings impersonating another person or business

Listing management: Users may edit, mark as sold, delete, or renew their own listings at any time. Listings are active for 60 days from the date posted and may be renewed at no cost. The Platform reserves the right to remove any listing at its sole discretion without prior notice if it violates these rules or is deemed inappropriate.

Featured listings: The Platform may at its sole discretion feature selected listings on the home page. Being featured does not imply endorsement and carries no fee at this time.

You agree not to use the Platform to:

• Harass, threaten, or defraud other users
• Collect other users' contact details for unsolicited marketing
• Attempt to hack, scrape, or reverse-engineer the Platform
• Circumvent security features or access controls
• Post false reviews or fake inquiries to manipulate listings
• Use automated bots or scripts to interact with the Platform

Violations may result in immediate account suspension and may be reported to the relevant authorities under African law.

The Platform is currently free to use for all registered members. Listing, browsing, and contacting sellers carries no charge at this time.

In the future, paid subscription tiers may be introduced to unlock premium features such as priority listings, verified badges, or expanded messaging. You will be notified in advance before any fees are applied to your account.

All transactions between buyers and sellers occur independently of the Platform. We are not party to any financial transaction between users and bear no responsibility for payment disputes.

Frican Continental Listings is a classified advertising platform only. We do not inspect, verify, or guarantee any listing, product, or service advertised on the Platform.

We are not responsible for:

• The quality, safety, or legality of items listed
• The conduct of any buyer or seller
• Financial losses arising from transactions conducted through the Platform
• Misrepresentation by any user

Use of the Platform and any transactions you conduct are entirely at your own risk. We strongly encourage you to follow our Online Safety Guidelines before completing any transaction.

All Platform design, branding, code, and content created by Frican Continental Listings remains the intellectual property of the Platform. You may not reproduce or redistribute it without written permission.

By posting a listing, you grant the Platform a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display your listing content (including images and descriptions) for the purpose of operating the Platform.

Frican New Business Connections ("FNBC") is a separate but connected professional business networking platform operated within the same Frican ecosystem. By clicking the Frican New Business Connections link in the navigation bar, you are automatically authenticated into FNBC using your Frican Continental Listings account via Single Sign-On ("SSO").

When you use SSO to access FNBC:

• Your full name, username, and internal account ID are passed to FNBC via a secure, time-limited signed token (valid for 120 seconds)
• If no FNBC account exists for your username, one is automatically created using your Frican name and username
• Your FNBC account is separate — business networking activity on FNBC is independent of your Frican Listings account
• You may request collaborations, find business partners, seek new engagements, and detail your services to prospective associates on FNBC
• You may update your FNBC profile and settings independently within FNBC

FNBC has its own Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy, which govern your use of the FNBC platform. By using the SSO link, you also agree to the FNBC Terms & Conditions.

Frican Continental Listings is not responsible for business arrangements, connections, or conduct on the FNBC platform. Both platforms share an operator but maintain independent databases and governance.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Zimbabwe, where the Platform is operated and administered. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Zimbabwe.
